What is the Shar'i ruling regarding the issue of paying sums of money, and what is the estimated amount for reconciliation in the case of a man assaulting another, causing him permanent disability?

Allah has forbidden aggression and transgression without right, and has coupled transgression with polytheism (shirk). Scholars have unanimously agreed that whoever intentionally destroys a human being or a part thereof is subject to retribution (qisas), or compensation (arsh), or blood money (diyah). And for whomever this right is due, they may forgive their right entirely or partially. The compensation for body parts varies according to the body part and the extent of the injury, and reference can be made to a ruler, judge, or religious scholar for this matter. If the injured party wishes to reconcile with the aggressor for an amount less or more than the value of the compensation, there is no harm, provided both parties agree.
