Is it permissible to delegate someone to act on my behalf in my marriage contract to a man who is with me abroad? And is the contract valid?

If a man appoints another man to represent him in accepting a marriage contract, the contract is valid as long as it meets the conditions. However, if a woman appoints a man other than her guardian to marry her off, the marriage is void according to the majority of scholars, and the contract must be renewed in the presence of the guardian or his representative. If a Sharia (definition) judge rules that this marriage is valid, then it settles the dispute and establishes the marriage.
