The Gospels have been distorted and most of what is mentioned in them has been altered, as evidenced by their contradictions. The name of the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, has been mentioned in several places, including:

The Gospel of Barnabas (Chapter 22) mentions: "And this shall remain until Muhammad, the Messenger of God, comes." The Book of Isaiah states: "I have made your name Muhammad, O Muhammad" and "Ahmad praises God with new praise, coming from the best of the earth." The Book of Habakkuk mentions: "The heavens were illuminated by the glory of Muhammad, and the earth was filled with his praise."

Furthermore, the former Metropolitan of Mosul, Abd al-Ahad Dawud al-Ashuri, mentioned that the Christian phrase "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, and goodwill toward men" was originally: "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth Islam, and to men Ahmad."
