What is the ruling on someone who experienced a wet dream and did not perform ghusl out of fear of their family until the morning, then performed ghusl and prayed?
It is not permissible for a Muslim to waste prayer time by delaying ghusl (ritual bath) from major impurity (janabah) under the pretext of blameworthy shyness, which is condemned by Islamic law. If you perform ghusl and pray before sunrise, there is no sin. However, if you delay until the prayer time expires with sunrise, you have committed a grave sin, and you must seek forgiveness and repent, as Allah Almighty says: "So perform prayer. Indeed, prayer has been decreed upon the believers at specified times." (An-Nisa 4:103)
