How can we deal with children who excessively watch cartoons that contain music and distract them from the Qur'an, and who are averse to being prevented from innovations (bid'ah) such as Mother's Day, the Prophet's Birthday (Mawlid), and birthdays, believing that the majority of society is right and only their parents are wrong? And what are the books that help in raising children upon the prophetic methodology?

You must continue to protect your children from innovations, in compliance with the words of Allah Almighty: "O you who have believed, protect yourselves and your families from a Fire" (Quran 66:6). Explain to your children that the criterion for knowing the truth is not the majority, but rather conformity with the Sharia. Strive in supplication for Allah to rectify your offspring.
