What should a wife do if her husband has not fulfilled his marital responsibilities for five years, and is she entitled to maintenance, and what are the procedures for divorce according to the Qur'an and Sunnah if she wishes to separate?

It is obligatory for the husband to provide for his wife and give her her rights. If he falls short or harms her, she has the right to seek separation (divorce) or demand maintenance and lodging, as Allah Almighty says: "Lodge them where you dwell, according to your means" and "Let a man of wealth spend from his wealth." The husband must treat his wife with kindness. If the husband fulfills her legitimate rights, it is unlawful for her to seek divorce. However, if the wife is harmed due to the husband's negligence in providing maintenance or not giving her her rights, she has the right to seek divorce and present the matter to the judge.
