The Muslim merchant must be certain that wealth belongs to Allah, and that he is merely a trustee over it. The Sharia has laid down regulations for trade, including: a righteous intention, good character (such as truthfulness and trustworthiness), dealing in permissible things and avoiding prohibitions, fulfilling rights (the rights of Allah and the rights of people), avoiding usury and consuming people's wealth unjustly, avoiding harming others, adhering to regulations and laws that do not contradict the Sharia, befriending believers, and learning the rulings of Islamic transactions.
