What is the ruling of the Sharia regarding listening to one's parents while they are engaging in sexual intercourse, and what should one do concerning the feeling of distress and detestation towards them because of this?

The jurists stipulated that among the etiquettes of intercourse is that it should be away from the eyes and ears of people, and it is disliked to hear even a faint sound from it. This etiquette must be observed, especially concerning children, due to its negative impact on them. Children must not intentionally listen, and if the sound reaches them unintentionally, they should move away.

We say to the questioner: Strive to prevent hearing your parents' intercourse, and if it happens unintentionally, there is no blame upon you, and do not dwell on it. It is not permissible to dislike your parents because of this, for they have a great right and must be honored. Even if they intended to harm you (which is unlikely), it is not permissible to despise them, so how can it be when they did not intend that.
