The answer

Bearing false witness and giving false testimony are among the gravest and most heinous major sins. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, absolutely forbade bearing false witness. It is not permissible, just because a woman falsely claimed something and presented false testimony, to bear false witness against her; a sin is not countered with a similar sin, and falsehood is not repelled with a similar falsehood. Rather, one should seek out truthful witnesses who have not wronged the wife and have not encroached upon her rights. Proceeding with false testimony is not permissible, for how can witnesses testify to what they have no knowledge of? It may be contrary to reality, thus harming the woman and violating her rights.
