Does the meaning of the noble verse "And do not pursue that of which you have no knowledge" pertain exclusively to people's affairs, or does it encompass all branches of knowledge in general?

The noble verse, "And do not pursue that of which you have no knowledge. Indeed, the hearing, the sight, and the heart – about all those [one] will be questioned," encompasses everything a person speaks about. One must be certain in every word and deed, for a person is responsible for their hearing, sight, and heart. Furthermore, Allah has made speaking about Him without knowledge above all other prohibitions. Therefore, a Muslim must speak, believe, and act based on knowledge and insight.
