What is the ruling on learning Islamic economics and working with it, and is it an individual obligation (fard al-ayn) or a communal obligation (fard al-kifaya)?

Learning Islamic economics is a communal obligation (fard kifayah) because it is not an individual obligation (fard ayn), except for what enables a person to correct their creed, worship, and profession. As for acting upon it, if the intention is to adhere to the Sharia rulings related to economics and transactions, then it is obligatory upon every Muslim who encounters them. But if the intention is to find lawful alternatives and solutions for contemporary economic dealings and problems, then it is a communal obligation (fard kifayah).
