How can a jinn possess a person who recites the prescribed Islamic supplications (dhikr)?

The remembrance of Allah and seeking refuge in Him are great means of protecting a servant from devils and have numerous benefits. However, its effect depends on the faith of the one remembering and the presence of his heart. For the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Supplicate to Allah while you are certain of a response, and know that Allah does not answer a supplication from an inattentive, heedless heart." So, supplication and seeking refuge are like a weapon, and the effect of a weapon depends on the strength of its wielder, the soundness of the weapon, and the absence of impediments.
