The answer

The (minimum threshold for ) is the value of 85 grams of pure gold, or approximately 595 grams of pure silver. The hawl (one lunar year) is calculated using the Hijri months.

The money gifted to you monthly becomes subject to Zakat if one lunar year passes after it reaches the nisab. You can either calculate a separate hawl for each amount or pay its Zakat along with your initial money when its hawl is completed. The latter option is easier and more beneficial for the poor.

According to the majority of scholars, Zakat is to be paid from money, not from food or other items. It is permissible for your father to pay Zakat on your behalf with your permission; otherwise, it will not be valid due to the absence of intention.
