Is a gynecological medical examination that involves touching permissible without the intention of lust?
Scholars differ concerning the invalidation of ablution (wudu') by touching the private parts of another without lust. The fatwa adopted by us is that whoever touches the private parts of another without a barrier invalidates his ablution, whether with or without lust. If the touch occurs with a barrier, then it does not invalidate ablution. Similarly, ablution is not invalidated by inserting something into the vagina if there is no direct touch of the private parts.
