It is not permissible to appoint a proxy for circumambulation () and striving (Sa'y) except for a sick person whose recovery is not anticipated. A woman in is not allowed to appoint someone to perform Tawaf or Sa'y on her behalf due to menstruation. The sister must return to Makkah to complete her ' with Tawaf, Sa'y, and shortening of the hair.

In addition, she must avoid the prohibitions of ihram. For any prohibitions she fell into out of ignorance, there is no expiation required from her. She must hasten to complete her 'Umrah to avoid falling into the prohibitions of ihram.
