The basic principle concerning clothing is permissibility unless there is evidence of prohibition. There are general guidelines for men's clothing, which are: it should not involve imitation of women, it should not be tight so as to describe the body, it should not be thin so as to reveal what is beneath it, it should not resemble the clothing of disbelievers, and it should not be a garment of ostentation.
