Can Muslims be united despite their differing beliefs and methodologies?

The disagreement among people in belief and methodology is a cosmic norm for a profound wisdom, which is to distinguish the obedient from the disobedient. Allah Almighty has shown His power to make people one nation, but He did not do so. Muslims cannot unite except upon pure monotheism and sound doctrine derived from the Quran and Sunnah (definition), not upon human ideas or political issues. The reasons for disagreement and disunity among Muslims are summarized as ignorance, following whims, and blameworthy imitation of fathers and shaykhs. Disagreement in belief is not permissible, whereas disagreement in jurisprudential issues derived from texts is possible, and one must adopt what is supported by evidence. A Muslim must care for his religion, be adorned with virtuous morals, and be a good example.
