Is the income earned from working in a government newspaper that publishes hypocrisy and misinformation, in a country that is supposedly Islamic, permissible, given the scarcity of job opportunities and the necessity of working there?

Scholars are of the view that newspapers and magazines are rarely free of Sharia (definition)-prohibited elements, such as horoscopes, satellite TV program schedules that promote indecencies, pictures of alluring women, advertisements for forbidden banks and companies, caricatures of living beings, flattery of rulers, misrepresentation of religious law through invalid fatwas, and slandering Islam. Therefore, it is impermissible to buy or sell newspapers and magazines that contain these elements, and it is impermissible to work for them, due to Allah Almighty’s saying: (And cooperate in righteousness and piety, but do not cooperate in sin and aggression). However, if working therein will lead to changing and reducing these objectionable matters, then it is permissible.
