The answer

The Friday (ritual bath) is a according to the majority of scholars. It is permissible for someone who is not in a state of major ritual impurity (junub) to pray Friday prayer with only wudu' (ablution) without performing ghusl. Prayer holds a great status in Islam; it is the second pillar after the Two Testimonies of Faith. Whoever safeguards it will succeed, and whoever neglects it will fail. A severe warning has been issued against those who are negligent regarding it, such as Allah's saying: "Then succeeded after them successors who neglected prayer and pursued lusts; so they are going to meet evil," and His saying: "So woe to those who pray who are heedless of their prayer." Whoever denies its obligation is a disbeliever by consensus, while scholars have differed regarding the excommunication of one who abandons it out of laziness.
