Which homes do the angels not enter?
Authentic hadiths state that angels do not enter a house that contains a dog or a picture. It is also narrated that they do not enter a house that contains a bell, and it is narrated: nor a person in a state of major ritual impurity (junub). Among these hadiths are: from Abu Hurayrah, that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Angels do not enter a house in which there are statues or pictures." From Abu Talhah, that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Angels do not enter a house in which there is a picture, except for a design on a garment." And from him, that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Angels do not enter a house in which there is a dog or a picture." From Aisha, that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Angels do not enter a house in which there is a bell." From Ali, that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Angels do not enter a house in which there is a picture, nor a dog, nor a person in a state of major ritual impurity (junub)."
