How authentic is the Hadith: "The boldest among you in issuing fatwas is the boldest among you in [daring] the Fire"?

The Hadith: "The most audacious among you in issuing fatwas (religious edicts) are the most audacious among you in facing Hellfire," is weak (da'if) and mu'dal (a type of weak Hadith where two or more consecutive narrators are missing from the chain), because Ubaidullah ibn Abi Ja'far was not a Companion (Sahabi); rather, he was from the followers of the Tabi'in (successors) and did not narrate from the Companions. Ibn Rajab, Al-'Ajlouni, and Al-Albani declared it weak. Despite its weakness, its meaning is sound, for whoever issues a fatwa without verification and research into the evidence exposes himself to Hellfire.
