It is permissible for both women and men to pray in congregation in the mosque, even if they do not see the Imam or the congregants, provided that it is possible to follow the Imam by hearing his voice or the voice of the one conveying it. As for praying outside the mosque, there is a difference of opinion regarding it. The more correct view is that it is not valid to follow the Imam outside the mosque if there is space inside the mosque, unless the mosque is full and the rows are connected, with the possibility of following.
