Is it permissible to interrupt a shortened prayer upon seeing a strange car near the worshiper, due to his fear that its occupants might be bandits intending to steal his car?

Originally, it is not permissible to interrupt an obligatory prayer after commencing it, due to Allah's saying: ﴿And do not invalidate your deeds﴾. However, it is permissible to interrupt it for a Shariah-approved reason, such as preserving life or property, like fearing the theft of a car, or fearing for one's life, or to kill a snake, or to rescue someone in distress, or to alert someone who is unaware or asleep.
