Is it permissible to listen to Abu Khatir's "My Wife" song if some of its lyrics, such as "days became difficult" or "time has allowed us to unite," constitute reviling time?

The prohibition of reviling time ( الدهر ) is established. There is a difference between reviling time and describing it. Reviling intends blame and reproach, while describing intends explanation and information. Attributing an action to time is a figure of speech and an idiom, for time is a creation subservient to Allah's command. Reviling time falls into three categories:

1. Purely informative without blame: Permissible, such as saying, "We are tired from the intense heat of this day." 2. Reviling with the belief that time is the doer: Major polytheism (shirk akbar), because it is a belief in the existence of a creator alongside Allah. 3. Reviling with the belief that Allah is the doer, but time is the locus of the disliked matter: Forbidden, but does not reach the degree of polytheism, because the reality of his reviling reverts to Allah.

Describing time as severe or easy, good or evil, is permissible, as in the verse: "seven nights and eight days in succession." [Quran 69:7]. Describing years as severe or days as unlucky is not considered reviling time, for Allah described days as unlucky. However, reviling time by attributing actions to it is an offense against Allah.
