How do we reconcile the prohibition against reviling time ( الدهر) in the Hadith Qudsi: "Do not revile time, for I am time," with the Almighty's saying: "on a day of continuous misfortune" (في يوم نحس مستمر)?

There is no contradiction between the Hadith Qudsi, "Son of Adam wrongs Me, he curses time, and I am time; in My hand is the matter; I alternate night and day," and the verse, "in a day of continuous misfortune." Al-Khattabi clarifies that the meaning of the Hadith is that Allah is the Administrator of the affairs attributed to time, so cursing time reverts to cursing Allah. As for the misfortune of the day in the verse, it is specific to the disbelievers, not to the day itself, for it was a day of victory for the believers.
