The answer

Whoever repents after committing a sin must repent for committing the transgression and for breaking their covenant. They are also required to offer an expiation () for an oath (): feeding ten poor persons, or clothing them, or freeing a slave. If they cannot find any of these, then fasting for three days. As for merely intending to abandon a sin without uttering a covenant or an oath, no expiation is required for it, and one must strive against their own self to stay away from the sin.
