Is it permissible to expiate for a vow or an oath by cooking for the family, with the intention of expiation, in the event of being unable to fast due to severe anemia and not having money for charity?
The expiation for an oath is to feed ten poor people, or to clothe them, or to free a slave. If you are unable to do so, then fast for three consecutive days. If you have taken multiple oaths, feed ten poor people for each oath. It is permissible to give multiple expiations to the same poor people. If you are unable to feed or clothe, then fast for three days for each oath. It is preferable to hasten the fasting unless it harms you, and it can be delayed if immediate fasting is not required. Your family is not obligated to give you money for the expiation, but it is permissible to use their food if they permit it. If you are unable to feed and fast, then the expiation is a debt upon you until you are able. Vows are not all the same; some must be fulfilled and some do not.
