If the mother knows that carrying heavy objects or walking a certain distance usually leads to miscarriage, and she does so intentionally, then she is liable for the fetus. However, if it happens unintentionally or without her knowledge, then there is nothing upon her. As for the second fetus that the doctor aborted, there is nothing upon the mother if the doctor was skilled and trustworthy, because the cause was beyond her control, and it is permissible to abort the fetus out of fear for the mother's life. However, if the doctor was unskilled and his error was proven, then the liability falls upon him.
