What is the ruling on working in the field of advertising and artistic direction related to promotional cards and illuminated billboards on roads?

It is permissible to work in advertising and artistic direction if it is free of forbidden elements, such as advertising for acting, dancing, or forbidden singing, or photographing animate beings, or promoting evil deeds like usury, gambling, alcoholic beverages, and immodest display (tabarruj). If it includes any of these, then it is not permissible, due to the general meaning of Allah's saying: "And do not cooperate in sin and aggression."
