Is one absolved of responsibility (Yubra' al-Dhimma) by sleeping before Fajr while setting an alarm, given that the questioner rarely wakes up to it?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

Some scholars have made it obligatory to adopt means of waking up for prayer. If you and your mother adopt some means of waking up, are diligent in doing so, and exert your utmost effort, then there is no sin upon you if you miss the prayer due to being overcome by sleep. The sleeping person is not held accountable, and the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "There is no negligence in sleep." And whoever sleeps before the time for prayer enters and misses the prayer due to sleep is not sinful, because they were not addressed with the obligation at that time.
