The answer

is obligatory on money if it reaches the نصاب (the equivalent of 85 grams of gold or 595 grams of silver) and one lunar year has passed over it. Its amount is a quarter of a tenth (2.5%). Zakat is not waived by delaying its payment. Whoever has not paid it for years must estimate it and strive to determine the years in which it became obligatory, then pay it to the authorized bodies that receive zakat or directly to the poor and needy.
