ما هي سيرة حياة المنافق عبد الله بن أبي بن سلول؟

1 min readAlso available in العربية

Abdullah ibn Ubayy ibn Salul, the leader of the hypocrites, was destined for leadership of the Aws and Khazraj tribes before the Prophet's migration (peace be upon him). However, he harbored animosity towards Islam and entered it grudgingly. He was known for his hostility towards the Prophet (peace be upon him) and his saying: "If we return to Medina, the more honorable [party] will surely expel therefrom the more humble." It was concerning this that Surah Al-Munafiqun (The Hypocrites) was revealed. He also harmed the Prophet (peace be upon him) and contributed to spreading the slander against Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), concerning which the verse was revealed: "Indeed, those who came with the slander are a company among you." He died in hypocrisy, and the verse was revealed concerning him: "And never (O Muhammad) pray for one of them who dies, nor stand by his grave." Thus, the Prophet (peace be upon him) ceased praying for them.
