If semen continues to be discharged after intercourse, one must wait until it stops and then perform ghusl (ritual bath). If something is discharged after ghusl and cessation, re-performing ghusl is not necessary; wudu' (ablution) suffices.

Intercourse should be avoided at prayer time or shortly before it if the seminal discharge will continue and cause the prayer time to expire, or if it will lead to missing congregational prayer.

If the discharge of semen stops and then resumes after ghusl, re-performing ghusl is not necessary; wudu' suffices. If it is discharged during prayer, the prayer is interrupted, and wudu' and prayer are re-performed. Imam Ahmad, Ibn Abbas, and Ali ibn Abi Talib stated that whoever experiences seminal discharge after ghusl should perform wudu', because the desire has subsided, and it is like an impurity that wudu' suffices for, or like a single emission of semen that necessitates a single ghusl.
