Is it unlawful for a man to caress his wife from behind and attempt to touch her buttocks with his penis without penetration?

Islam has permitted the husband to enjoy his wife in any manner, as long as it does not lead to committing what is forbidden, such as intercourse during menstruation; as Allah Almighty says: ﴿So keep away from women during menstruation. And do not approach them until they are pure. And when they have purified themselves, then come to them from where Allah has commanded you﴾ [Al-Baqarah: 222]. Similarly, anal intercourse is forbidden, as stated in the Hadith: "Approach her from the front and from behind, if that is in the vagina." As for deriving pleasure from between the buttocks without penetration, it is permissible for anyone who feels secure from falling into what is forbidden.
