Does a divorced woman have the right to demand her household items and jewelry, and a full year's maintenance that her husband did not provide for her, in addition to three months' maintenance after her divorce, as compensation for the harm she suffered due to her husband's betrayal, humiliation, and her miscarriage?

The husband is obliged to pay you maintenance for the period during which he did not provide for you, provided you were not disobedient (nashiz). If you are pregnant, maintenance is due for the fetus. The maintenance during the waiting period (iddah) varies depending on the type of iddah. If the husband took the jewelry as a loan, he must return its equivalent or its value, and this remains a debt upon him if he does not have money. As for the household furniture, refer to Fatwa no. 76781. We remind that the husband should not harm his wife, and that he should either retain her with kindness or release her with goodness. The fundamental principle for a Muslim is integrity, so it is not permissible for either spouse to accuse the other of anything disgraceful without clear proof, and both Muslim men and women must avoid situations that arouse suspicion. Such matters related to maintenance, debts, and household furniture require evidence, and it is best to refer them to the Sharia courts.
