A woman is considered pure if she sees one of the two signs of purity, and she must perform ghusl (ritual bath) and pray. If the blood returns during the possible period of menstruation, she reverts to being a menstruating woman. Prayers performed while wearing nail polish are invalid, and she must remove it, re-perform ablution, and pray. If new blood appears, then if it is within the menstrual period (15 days or less), it is menstruation, requiring a new ghusl and re-performance of prayers and fasting if it was invalidated. If it is outside the possible period, it is considered istihadha (irregular bleeding), and she only needs to remove the nail polish and re-perform the prayer; her fast remains valid.
