What will be the first matter judged among people on the Day of Resurrection?

The first matters to be judged among people on the Day of Resurrection will be cases involving bloodshed, as was narrated from Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The first matters to be judged among people on the Day of Resurrection will be those of bloodshed." This does not contradict the hadith (definition) of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the first thing a servant will be called to account for on the Day of Resurrection is his prayer. For the former relates to dealings between people, while the latter relates to a servant's dealings with his Lord.
