Is it permissible to transplant eyebrows for adornment for someone afflicted with alopecia totalis?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

If hair loss causes obvious and noticeable disfigurement, and the intention is not to increase beauty, then there is no objection to hair transplantation. It is a permissible treatment and not a change in Allah's creation. This is supported by the fact that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, ordered Arfaja bin As'ad to acquire a nose of gold after his nose was cut off.
