Does a worshipper's delay from the first congregational prayer, his catching the second congregation, and his feeling of embarrassment from his delay contradict sincerity or make him sinful?

Congregational prayer in the mosque is obligatory, and it is not permissible to be absent from it except for a valid excuse. A Muslim's dislike of being late for congregational prayer and missing its virtue is a commendable matter; indeed, it is one of the signs of faith. The predecessors used to grieve intensely when they missed it. It is not necessarily the case that a Muslim's shyness about entering the mosque after the worshippers have left is due to showing off. Rather, he should strive to correct and purify his intention for the sake of Allah the Almighty, for Allah is the most independent of partners from partnership. And the eagerness for wealth and honor is more corrupting to religion than two hungry wolves sent into a flock of sheep.
