What is the ruling on the phrase "Don't speed, for death is swifter"? Is there any Sharia-related issue with it?

"Do not hasten, for death is swifter" has no issue. Its apparent meaning is the weakness of man and the swiftness of destruction towards him, so it advises caution and not throwing oneself into peril, as Allah Almighty said: (And do not throw [yourselves] with your [own] hands into destruction [by refraining]. And do good; indeed, Allah loves the doers of good). It resembles the saying of Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq: "Every man wakes up among his family... while death is closer than the strap of his sandal."
