Theft is one of the grave sins, and its ugliness increases if it is from a relative or a friend, as it combines the sin of theft with severing ties of kinship or betraying a friend. It is permissible for the person in charge to complain about the thieving woman if she is certain of her action or finds strong evidence. She may also shun her for that. However, if she deems it more beneficial to admonish her without shunning, that would be better.
