A Muslim must guard his tongue and avoid ambiguous words, as in the : "Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, let him speak good or remain silent." It is unlikely that the speaker intended the technical (religious) meaning of the word "deen" (religion) here; rather, he might have meant one of its linguistic meanings. In any case, it is not permissible for a Muslim to say such a thing about himself.
