What is the ruling on fearing that one's children will commit sins from which the parent has repented?
Source: FtawySummarized from the full answer at Ftawy · imported Sep 2, 2026
You must have a good opinion of Allah and strive to raise your children with a sound Islamic upbringing by teaching them the values of Islam and instilling in them reverence for Allah's commands. You should replace worry with reliance on Allah for your children's righteousness and guidance, for guidance is in His hand alone. As for sins, as long as you have repented from them, you will not be punished for them, for the one who repents from a sin is like one who has no sin. You must trust in Allah, have a good opinion of Him, and rely on Him, and strive in supplicating to Him to protect your children and grant them steadfastness and uprightness.
