What is the correct wording for the final Tashahhud in prayer?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

Several fixed forms of the tashahhud have been narrated from the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, including those narrated by Ibn Mas'ud, Ibn Abbas, Ibn Umar, Abu Musa al-Ash'ari, and Aisha, may Allah be pleased with them. Ibn Mas'ud's tashahhud is considered the most authentic and comprehensive in its chain of narration, and most scholars have acted upon it. The hadith scholars have agreed on its superiority. The worshiper recites one of these forms in both the first and second tashahhud, adding the prayers upon the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and supplication in the final tashahhud.
