Are the salutations said at the end of the prayer attributed to the Hadith or the Qur'an?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

The wording of the Tashahhud before the Salaam in prayer is an authentic Hadith and not from the Qur'an. It has been narrated in several narrations, among them the narration of Ibn Mas'ud: "All greetings of blessedness, prayers, and goodness are for Allah. Peace be upon you, O Prophet, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings. Peace be upon us and upon the righteous servants of Allah. I bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and His Messenger." Narrated by Al-Bukhari, Muslim, and others.
