Is the marriage that took place between the young man and the girl without the knowledge and consent of her guardian (the girl's father) valid? And is this marriage considered void? If so, what is the legitimate solution to this problem?

A woman's marriage without a guardian is invalid according to the majority of scholars. Even if her closest guardian prevents her from marrying a suitable partner without a valid reason, this does not permit her to marry without a guardian. Rather, the guardianship transfers to the more distant relative or to the ruler (Sultan). To rectify this marriage, a new contract must be made through the woman's guardian or the judge.
