How can I contribute to Da‘wah while lacking courage and a persuasive style, and quickly giving up, despite my repeated attempts and reading, and my feeling of distress and lack of success due to my shortcomings in my duty to Allah and to Da‘wah?

The questioner's endeavor in da'wah (calling to Islam) is evidence of her desire for good, and one should not pay attention to the whispers of Satan. Calling to Allah has conditions and guidelines, and its methods are numerous, not confined to a specific way. Psychological distress and depression are from Satan, and their cure is dhikr (remembrance of Allah) and reading the Qur'an. Academic failure or frequent calamities are not proof of Allah's hatred for His servant, nor is success proof of His love. If the questioner is deficient, she must repent, feel remorse, and mend her relationship with Allah, and she will find the fruit of that. By frequently reading the Qur'an and remembering Allah, the heart finds tranquility and the chest expands, in fulfillment of His saying, the Almighty: "Those who have believed and whose hearts are assured by the remembrance of Allah. Unquestionably, by the remembrance of Allah hearts are assured."
