Is visiting the grave of one's deceased father, buried 350 kilometers away, considered an act of "shadd al-rihal" (traveling specifically for visiting a grave)? And does the deceased feel sadness if his grave is not visited, and does seeing him in a dream mean that he feels this?

Visiting graves is recommended to remember the Hereafter, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "I had forbidden you from visiting graves, but now visit them, for they remind you of the Hereafter." As for traveling to visit them, it is considered a forbidden journey (شد رحال) except for the three mosques. It is advised to supplicate for your father, give charity on his behalf, maintain ties with his kin, and honor his friends, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "When a person dies, all his deeds come to an end except for three: a continuous charity, knowledge from which others benefit, or a righteous child who supplicates for him." And regarding honoring parents after their death, he, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Yes, there are four qualities: praying for them, seeking forgiveness for them, fulfilling their promises, honoring their friends, and maintaining the ties of kinship that you have only through them."
