What is the ruling on visiting the grave of a specific person?

Visiting graves is legislated and recommended to remind the visitor of the Hereafter. There is no difference between one grave and another, nor between a man and a woman, according to the preponderant opinion.

The visitor must adhere to the Islamic guidelines, which include not traveling solely for the purpose of visiting (i.e., not undertaking a journey for this specific purpose), and limiting the visit to admonition and supplication for the deceased. However, if the visit includes anything forbidden, such as seeking needs from the deceased, then it becomes prohibited.
