Is visiting graves, staying overnight there, and sacrificing offerings there—claiming that the sacrifice is for oneself and not for the deceased—acceptable in Islamic law, and is traveling for such visits permissible?

It has been previously explained that sacrificing and undertaking journeys to graves are forbidden. The claim that the dwellers of graves host them is false due to the inability of the deceased and their disconnection from this world, and all provision is from Allah. It is probable that this is from the deception of the devils who respond to those who seek help from the saints. Therefore, one must beware of the deception of devils and strive for steadfastness in obeying Allah and following the Sunnah (definition) as the greatest honor.
